जय जय श्री शनिदेव आरती – Lyrics
Lyrics follow the most widely sung version. Regional variations exist.
Jai Jai Shri Shani Dev Meaning
The aarti hails Shani Dev, who is kind to his devotees, the son of the Sun god and Mother Chhaya. He has a dark body, a sideways glance and four arms, wears blue garments and rides an elephant.
A crown adorns his head and his forehead glows, with a garland of pearls at his neck. Laddoos, sweets, betel leaf and supari are offered to him; iron, sesame, mustard oil and urad are especially dear to him.
Gods, demons, sages and people all remember him, and even Vishwanath (Shiva) meditates on him. The devotee ends by taking refuge in him.
