Lyrics follow the most widely sung version. Regional variations exist.
Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva Meaning
The aarti praises Ganesha as the son of Mother Parvati and Mahadeva. He has a single tusk, is full of compassion, holds four arms, wears vermilion on his forehead and rides a mouse.
Devotees offer him betel leaves, flowers, dry fruits and his favourite laddoos, while saints serve him. The verses list his grace: he gives sight to the blind, a healthy body to the sick, children to the childless and wealth to the poor.
In the closing lines the poet, named as Soor, takes refuge with the Lord and prays that this service be fruitful. The devotee asks Ganesha to protect the honour of the humble and fulfil every wish.
