Om Jai Jagdish Hare Meaning

The aarti opens by hailing Jagdish, the Lord who removes the troubles of his devotees in an instant. Whoever meditates on him receives the fruit of devotion: sorrow leaves the mind, happiness and prosperity come home, and the pains of the body fade.

The devotee then calls the Lord mother and father, the only refuge, the complete Supreme Soul who knows every heart. He is the ocean of compassion and the sustainer of all. The devotee admits being foolish and still wanting rewards (phalkami), yet says: I am your servant and you are my master, so please be gracious.

The closing verses ask the Lord, friend of the helpless, to raise his hand, take the devotee into his shelter and protect the one lying at his door, to wipe away worldly vices and sins, and to grow faith, devotion and service of saints. Many families also sing a final verse of complete surrender: body, mind and wealth are all yours, so I offer to you what is already yours.
