Jai Santoshi Mata Meaning
The aarti hails Santoshi Maa, who gives happiness and wealth to her devotees. She wears a beautiful golden saree, with diamonds and emeralds shining in her adornment, and her lotus-like face, red with geru, enchants the three worlds.
Seated on a golden throne, she is fanned with chamars, and incense, lamps and sweets are offered to her. Jaggery and chana are her favourite offering, and because she was content with them she is called Santoshi.
Friday is her day, when devotees gather to hear her katha. She frees the sad, the poor and the sick from trouble, fills homes with grain and good fortune, and fulfils the wishes of whoever meditates on her. Whoever sings her aarti receives riddhi, siddhi and prosperity.
